SPICED PEACHES OR PEARS
 
This is an old fashioned dish and it seems, to me, more authentic when made with freestone peaches, however, clings are fine too.
 
8Peach halves (canned)>Drain juice into measuring cup. Save 1 cup.
 
½CVinegar>Combine in pan. Boil until reduced by half.
1CJuice from Peaches
¼CSugar
1StkCinnamon
1TWhole Cloves
 
Pour syrup with spices over peaches. Let stand overnight in refrigerator.
