| HARD SAUCE | ||||
| Grandma Wooden used to use 150 proof Wild Turkey for her hard sauce. Used for Mince Pie & puddings. (Purchased Hard Sauce costs $3.50 for a 6 oz. jar.). | ||||
| ½ | C | Butter | > | Beat with electric mixer until smooth. |
| 1 | C | Powdered Sugar | ||
| 2 | T | Brandy, Rum or Liqueur | ||
| I prefer flavored Liqueurs. You can buy airline size bottles at some liquor stores. | ||||
| Store in tightly covered jar in refrigerator. | ||||
| You can also press into 8 x 8 pan and cut in squares or fancy shapes to place on pie. | ||||
| FLUFFY HARD SAUCE | ||||
| Stir 1 beaten egg yoke into above mixture. | ||||
| Stiffly beat an egg white, then fold it in. Chill. | ||||
