Oven 375° 6 to 8 min | |||
| CHRISTMAS SUGAR COOKIES | ||||
| 2 | C | Shortening | > | Mix really well (creaming) |
| 2 ¼ | C | Sugar | ||
| 3 | t | Vanilla | ||
| 3 | Eggs | > | Add and beat till light & fluffy. | |
| ¾ | C | Milk | > | Stir in |
| 6 | C | All Purpose Flour | > | Sift together then blend in. |
| 4 ½ | t | Baking Powder | ||
| ¾ | t | Salt | ||
| Divide dough into 6 parts - chill at least 1 hour (3 hours is best). Roll out in. thick on lightly floured surface and cut with Cookie Cutters.Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 6-8 mins. | ||||
| Hint: Excess flour and/or rolling will toughen cookies. Chilled dough absorbs less flour. Roll on lightly floured surface. If you own them, use a pastry cloth and stockinette cover for rolling pin. | ||||
